On August 6, Laser Digital, the digital asset subsidiary of Nomura Securities, announced that it had received the world's first regulatory approval for cryptocurrency OTC options trading from the Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority (VARA) in Dubai. This makes it the first regulated entity under VARA's pilot framework, launching direct customer-facing services for institutional investors.
