Asserting the Legitimacy of the Pardon

President Donald Trump defended the legitimacy of his pardon to Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) during an episode of CBS's '60 Minutes' aired on the 3rd. In his first interview in five years, Trump mentioned he was aware of CZ's four-month sentence, but heard it was a witch hunt orchestrated by the Biden administration. In 2023, CZ pleaded guilty to violations of anti-money laundering laws, was fined $50 million, and served a four-month prison sentence, completing his term in September 2024.
