A track record of working on the world's No. 1 game
Leverage your experience to open up a domestic token business
It will be important for the industry as a whole to form an ecosystem based on compliance with regulations. We will support domestic businesses and unveil a variety of projects this year.
2022 can be said to be the year when companies and projects begin to be weeded out due to deteriorating market conditions in the crypto asset market and the bankruptcy of FTX. However, on the other hand, companies and projects that can grow steadily during this period are more likely to achieve dramatic results after market conditions recover.
BOBG provides support for domestic token issuance, operation, and management, as well as listing on crypto asset exchanges.
CEO Kengo Masuyama, who has been involved in numerous blockchain projects such as “My Crypto Heroes,” which ranked number one in the world on double jump.tokyo, talks about industry trends in 2023 and what he wants from token design. I will touch on the way of thinking.
How tokens will be used in the future
It is divided into two trends: evolution with financial overtones and utility-specific evolution.
Masuyama: Macroeconomic conditions continue to be difficult for the crypto market, but I think the industry will progress in both positive and negative ways in 2023, influenced by the turbulent waves of Web 3.0. On the positive side, we will see companies that have conducted various research and development in Web 3.0 release new products. I think the product will first be released as part of research and development, but I think the movements of each company will become clearer and the industry will be greatly promoted. Many of these will involve weeding out many products, including those of companies. On the other hand, on the negative side, it is thought that the scope of coverage that each company can cover will become narrower as regulations are put in place.
Until now, guidelines have been formulated by regulatory bodies, but it is expected that regulations to protect customers will become more stringent in the future at the national level.
As far as what has been announced so far, the number is quite large. In response, the industry will be asked how to respond to drastic changes in regulations, which will become extremely important in shaping the ecosystem.
The usage of tokens is thought to be divided into two types: evolution with more financial overtones and a trend towards utility-specific usage.
Token holders, in any industry, often tend to view tokens as 'assets'. Therefore, from the perspective of how to use these tokens to increase assets, it is likely that traditional financial elements will be further integrated.
On the other hand, in the entertainment industry, the utility of tokens is becoming more important. Of course, these tokens also have the aspect of assets, but it is expected that there will be more efforts to use them as a kind of plaything to create new and interesting experiences.
BOBG aims to support the ecosystem of Japanese businesses in terms of token issuance, management, and operation in the blockchain area by using knowledge gained from past blockchain games.
Since last year, we have begun collaborating with businesses that want to take on global challenges using blockchain, and 2023 will be the year when they will finally be unveiled. We will strive to energize Japan through the success of our collaborative projects in the global market.
