Privacy Policy

Article 1 (Basic Policy)

J-CAM Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") recognizes the protection of personal information as an important social mission in corporate activities and establishes this policy as the basic matters to be observed to appropriately manage and operate the user information held by the Company.

Article 2 (Definition of Personal Information)

  1. "Personal Information" refers to information about a living individual that falls into any of the following categories:

    1. Information that can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, or other description contained in the information (including information that can be easily collated with other information and thereby identify a specific individual).

    2. Information that contains an individual identification code.

  2. "Personal Data" refers to personal information as defined in Article 2, Paragraph 6 of the Personal Information Protection Law.

  3. "Personally Related Information" refers to information about a living individual defined in Article 26-2 of the Personal Information Protection Law that does not fall under personal information, pseudonymized information, or anonymized information. This includes browsing history, location information, cookies, etc., which cannot identify a specific individual.

Article 3 (Acquisition and Purpose of Use of Personal Information)

  1. The Company will acquire personal information handled by the Company's services through lawful and fair means. Hereinafter in this policy, the provider of personal information is referred to as the "Provider."

  2. The Company will not acquire sensitive personal information beyond what is necessary for the execution of the Company's operations. If sensitive personal information is acquired, the Company will obtain the Provider's consent unless it falls under exceptions provided by law.

  3. If the personal information acquired by the Company is insufficient, the Company may be unable to provide all or part of its services or respond to inquiries.

Article 4 (Purpose of Use of Personal Information)

The Company will use the information provided by users (hereinafter referred to as "Personal Information, etc.") for the following purposes:

  1. To register and verify users for the Company's services.

  2. To provide, maintain, protect, and improve the Company's services.

  3. To send notifications about the Company's services, distribute newsletters, advertise, and provide information about related services.

  4. For the Company's marketing research.

  5. To conduct and co-host seminars, events, etc.

  6. To respond to actions that violate the Company's terms of use and policies.

  7. To respond to inquiries and other requests.

  8. For use based on laws and regulations.

Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

  1. The Company will not provide or entrust the handling of personal information stored by the Company to third parties without the user's prior consent, except in the following cases:

    1. When the handling of personal information is entrusted to a third party within the necessary scope to achieve the purposes listed in the previous article.

    2. When personal information is provided due to the succession of business through a merger or other reasons.

    3. When cooperation is necessary for a national institution or local public body, or an entity entrusted by them, to perform the duties prescribed by law, and obtaining the user's consent may hinder the performance of those duties.

    4. Other cases permitted by the Personal Information Protection Law or other laws and regulations.

  2. Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the following cases do not fall under "third parties" as defined above:

    1. When the Company entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information within the necessary scope to achieve the purposes of use.

    2. When personal information is provided due to the succession of business through a merger or other reasons.

    3. When personal information is jointly used with a specific party, and the Provider is notified in advance or can easily become aware of the fact that the information is jointly used, the items of personal information jointly used, the scope of joint users, the purpose of use by the users, and the name or title of the person responsible for managing the personal information.

Article 6 (External Entrustment)

  1. The Company may entrust personal information to external parties for business operations such as information processing, within the minimum necessary scope, and the Provider agrees to this in advance.

  2. When entrusting such operations, the Company will require the entrusted party to adhere to the same safety management standards as the Company and will implement necessary and appropriate management and supervision to ensure the safety management of personal information.

Article 7 (Requests for Correction, Suspension of Use, Deletion, and Disclosure)

  1. Regarding the personal information provided, if the Provider requests correction of the content based on the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Law due to the information being untrue, or if the Provider requests suspension of use based on the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Law due to the information being handled beyond the scope of the previously announced purposes of use or obtained by fraudulent or other illegal means, the Company will confirm that the request is from the Provider and promptly conduct necessary investigations. Based on the results, the Company will correct or suspend the use of the personal information and notify the Provider. If the Company decides not to correct or suspend the use, it will notify the Provider of this decision.

  2. If the Provider requests the deletion of personal information, and the Company deems it necessary to respond to the request, the Company will confirm that the request is from the Provider and delete the personal information, notifying the Provider of this action.

  3. If the Company is not obligated to correct or suspend the use of personal information under the Personal Information Protection Law or other laws, the provisions of the preceding two paragraphs do not apply.

  4. If the Provider requests the disclosure of personal information, the Company will confirm that the request is from the Provider and promptly disclose the information (if the personal information does not exist, the Company will notify the Provider of this fact). However, if the Company is not obligated to disclose personal information under the Personal Information Protection Law or other laws, this does not apply. A fee of 1,000 yen per request will be charged for the disclosure of personal information.

  5. The Provider's identity will be verified using one of the following documents: driver's license, driver's history certificate, My Number (Individual Number) card (front side only), or residence card.

  6. For inquiries regarding requests for correction, suspension of use, deletion, or disclosure of personal information, please contact the address listed in Article 13.

Article 8 (Use of Statistical Data)

The Company may create statistical data that cannot identify individuals based on the personal information provided. The Company may use this statistical data without any restrictions.

Article 9 (Disclaimer)

The Company is not responsible for the handling of personal information in the following cases:

  1. When the user discloses personal information to third parties using the web services provided by the Company or other means at their own discretion or due to their own negligence.

  2. When the user provides personal information or unintentionally discloses personal information on external websites not managed by the Company linked from the Company's services.

  3. When personal information is leaked, damaged, or lost due to malware, natural disasters, or other reasons not attributable to the Company, despite the Company taking the usual preventive measures.

Article 10 (Safety Management)

  1. To prevent the leakage, alteration, loss, or damage of personal information held, the Company will improve the security of storage systems, instruct, manage, and supervise employees, and implement safety management measures.

  2. The Company will strive to ensure the accuracy and up-to-dateness of the personal data held.

Article 11 (Changes to this Policy)

The Company will comply with Japanese laws and other norms applicable to the personal information it holds and will review and continuously improve the handling of personal information. The Company may change this policy as necessary. In the event of changes, the Company will notify users by posting the changes on the Company's website. However, if the changes require user consent under the law, the Company will obtain user consent by the method specified by the Company.

Article 12 (Information Communication Modules)

The Company may use information collection modules by third parties, independent of the functions of the Company's services, to investigate trends related to the provision and use of the Company's services and to display appropriate advertisements to users. Please refer to the privacy policies of the providers of these information collection modules for information obtained and the purposes of use:
