「ゲームの面白さ」を引き立てるためにトークンが活用されるように Game Review Vol.11

Are tokens and NFTs just supporting roles that enhance the “fun of the game”?

Initially, the appeal of blockchain games was mainly in the acquisition of tokens (crypto assets) and NFTs and the profits gained through trading them. There was a tendency to think that the fun and appeal of the game itself was secondary, and that it was enough if tokens and NFTs rose in value and players gained.

However, now it seems that even people who are sensitive to terms such as tokens and NFTs are no longer interested in blockchain game titles if the game itself is not attractive. And many game companies are starting to release titles that are comparable in quality and fun to general games (not using blockchain).

It can be said that tokens and NFTs are no longer the center of the project, but are being used as elements that enhance the appeal of the game.
