"Blockchain Games x Social Welfare" WAVE3's Challenge to Connect Two Industries - Interview with WAVE3's Takashi Kondo

Please tell us about WAVE3's business.

Takashi Kondo (hereinafter Kondo): WAVE3's mission is to implement the latest technologies such as Web 3.0 and AI in the welfare industry. In July 2024, we began nationwide deployment of "RevelApp," a labor-fee system that utilizes blockchain games to support employment for people with disabilities.

How did you come up with the idea of ​​connecting "welfare" and "Web 3.0," two concepts that seem somewhat separate?

Kondo: Before founding WAVE3, I founded and served as CTO of WellsTech Co., Ltd., which operates a Type B business that specializes in web work and provides employment support for people with disabilities. On the other hand, I have personally been interested in cryptocurrencies and the Web 3.0 field since around 2017.

Both of these are fields that Kondo-san was involved in.

Kondo: In 2022, we founded WAVE3 as a joint venture with cryptocurrency media CoinPost. The reason is that I was actually a classmate of CoinPost's founder, Yuki Haraguchi, in junior high school, and as we talked about various things, we got excited about the idea of ​​doing something together in the field of welfare and Web 3.0.
