30代半ばでリスクを取り、起業を選んだ真意に迫る—— 国山ハセン 独占インタビュー

Growing Intellectual Curiosity Towards Technology Beyond TBS Days

Summary

1. Technology and AI Evolve from 'Tools' to 'Extensions of Thought'

After joining PIVOT, my perception of technology significantly changed, and I began to see AI as an 'extension of thought' in daily use. In the AI era, intellectual curiosity and understanding based on technology are crucial, rather than mere skills.

2. 'Personal Words' and Primary Information Generate Value Even in the AI Era

In content creation, I emphasize the importance of 'personal words' and primary information obtained on-site as values that AI cannot replace. In an era overflowing with information, individual reliability and unique perspectives become the source of media value.

3. The Shared Philosophy of 'Investment in the Future' in Bitcoin and Challenges

In the realm of cryptocurrencies, I choose Bitcoin for its simple and intrinsic value, focusing on long-term growth rather than short-term prices. In entrepreneurship and career, I also value taking risks and challenges, expressing the belief that 'not taking challenges is the greatest risk.'

──Since moving from TBS to PIVOT, I assume you've had significantly more opportunities to engage with cutting-edge technologies like AI and blockchain. How have your initial 'preconceptions' about these changed through interviews with experts?

Hasen Kuniyama (hereafter, Hasen): They've changed dramatically. When I was at TBS, a major mass media outlet, I honestly had little knowledge or education about technology.

I viewed it as something I didn't quite understand, possibly a temporary trend. However, after joining PIVOT and speaking with many experts and knowledgeable individuals, I realized that technology is not just a fad but something that shapes the future itself.

Now, I feel that we are in an era where various societal structures are changing based on technology, and personally, I am very interested. My intellectual curiosity has grown much larger than before, and I want to learn more.

──How are you currently utilizing AI in the process of program production and research?

Hasen: At the time of founding, we weren't using AI yet. About three years ago, when the term AI was just starting to spread, I was in a situation where I began by asking experts, 'What is ChatGPT?'

However, recently, I engage in conversations with generative AI for nearly two hours almost every day. Basic research has almost entirely shifted from Google searches to generative AI. Recently, I've also been using it for text generation.

When I post my writings on platforms like X or note, I often start by having AI write the initial draft. This is how I use it regularly.

I use it not only for work but also in my private life, and AI has become like a trusted partner for me. From the perspective of an announcer who deals with language, AI is no longer just a tool but feels like an extension of my brain that expands my thinking.
