Web 3.0 companies from Japan and abroad gathered in Kyoto.
This report focuses on the "MOOI Network," which attracted many participants.
We provide a comprehensive report on the atmosphere of the booths and the content of the presentations. We also conducted an exclusive interview about the future of MOOI.
"IVS 2023 KYOTO" was a large-scale startup conference held from June 28th to 30th. More than 10,000 people flocked to the venue to get information on leading startups and the latest business trends from Japan and abroad.
IVS is a conference that has been held since 2007, and last year "IVS Crypto 2022 NAHA" was held in Okinawa, with more than 2,000 people attending. In 2023, "IVS Crypto 2023 KYOTO" will be held as the largest Web3.0 conference in Japan.
At this conference, booths from companies that provide solutions using AI technology were also prominent, and many participants were seen visiting and talking. AI-related sessions were also crowded with people standing, once again showing the high level of interest.
Meanwhile, IVS Crypto 2023 KYOTO was also crowded with many people. In 2023, we have entered a phase of considering how to mass-adopt Web3.0. As the year reaches its halfway point, each company and project reported on their progress and introduced new products, which many participants seemed to be interested in.
IVS Crypto 2023 KYOTO was held on a much larger scale than last year, with more than 250 sessions. The speakers were all top players at the forefront of the Web 3.0 field from Japan and abroad, and there were many projects that released information in conjunction with the conference.
The topics discussed in the sessions were diverse, including crypto assets, NFTs, DAOs, and stable coins, and each participant was able to obtain the information they wanted pinpointed. In particular, many participants seemed to be interested in the regulatory trends surrounding Web 3.0, and related sessions were bustling.
In addition, approximately 100 side events were held independently by participating companies and projects in conjunction with the conference. Many participants gathered in various locations, and participants were seen trying to deepen their friendships through side events.
This conference confirmed that interest in Web 3.0 remains high. This time, we will report on the day's events, focusing on "MOOI Network," one of the booths that attracted many participants.
Only one year after full-scale operation, MOOI Network has made it into the top 10 in the world
MOOI Network begins to develop the Japanese market
▶︎Booth
MOOI Network (MOOI) is a blockchain developed by POST VOYAGER, a group company of Cocone, which develops avatar apps such as "Pokecolo" and "Livly Island," which are overwhelmingly popular in Japan.
It began full-scale operation last year, and has already released the NFT marketplace "Jellyme," as well as developing an NFT game that utilizes Cocone's IP. Both have a simple and easy-to-use UI and UX, and are beginning to gain support mainly globally. In 2023, the company will focus on expanding in Japan in order to further expand its scale.
MOOI participated in IVS Crypto 2023 KYOTO as a platinum partner alongside major companies. The booth was set up in an area close to the stage venue "Web3 Stage" located in the center of the venue, and many participants visited.
There were also efforts to help people become familiar with blockchain, which has a difficult image, such as setting up an attraction with a UFO catcher next to the booth. It was also impressive to see general participants and business people who stopped by to take an interest in MOOI and listen to what it had to say.
Cho Hoon-je, CEO of Voyager Japan, the Japanese subsidiary of POST VOYAGER, who was interviewed at the booth, spoke enthusiastically about his intentions, saying, "We would like to work to further increase awareness of MOOI," in light of the excitement at the venue and the enthusiasm of the participants.
Oleg Smagin, Web3 Business Director at the company, also reflected on the project, saying, "As a project that started with Cocone, MOOI has been working hard on onboarding and other aspects up to now." Furthermore, he stated that through this conference, "We would like to develop the project with an eye toward partnering with excellent Japanese projects," indicating his intention to accelerate MOOI's efforts to develop the Japanese market.
Our responsibility is to provide the fastest blockchain
▶︎MOOI Network's Oleg on stage
Oleg also took to the stage on the second day to talk about MOOI's vision. What was particularly impressive was that he emphasized that "it is our responsibility to provide the fastest blockchain" to end users.
Not only for MOOI, but for the expansion of the Web 3.0 ecosystem, it is essential that the blockchain is easy to use for general users and engineers developing applications.
On top of that, blockchains with excellent transaction processing capabilities are useful in all situations. Especially now that blockchains are increasingly being used in NFTs and games, low transaction fees are also an important factor.
MOOI's strengths are that it has very low transaction fees and can process transactions quickly. Oleg revealed that these features have been recognized, and that Jellyme, which is based on MOOI, has become an NFT marketplace that has made it into the top 10 in the world in terms of transaction volume (see DappRadar).
Despite only being fully operational for about a year, the fact that it has already produced results in the highly competitive NFT field is proof of MOOI's reliability.
▶A marketplace where all MOOI Network-based NFTs can be traded. Anyone can easily trade the abundant IP that Cocone possesses. Focused on a UI and UX that is easy for general users and developers to use. Low fees and high transaction processing capacity are also strengths.
