[NEWS] Astar Network "Astar zkEVM Mainnet" to be released in late February

Astar Network announced on the 1st that it will release the mainnet of Ethereum Layer 2 "Astar zkEVM Powered by Polygon" in late February. In addition, a launch campaign "Yoki Origins" will be held immediately after the release.

Astar zkEVM is a network that supports Japanese companies, brands, anime, and other original Japanese IP to enter the international Web 3.0 market. It provides a scalable platform with low gas fees (fees) that allows the use of existing EVM tools and services for Web 3.0 users around the world.

They also revealed that it will be the first network powered by the Polygon CDK (Chain Development Kit), which utilizes zero-knowledge proofs developed by Polygon Labs. They will also provide developers with access to the extensive development resources in the Ethereum ecosystem.

According to the announcement, Astar zkEVM now has a developer-friendly on-chain UX. Specifically, they list the following six:

• Quickswap: The largest DEX in the Polygon ecosystem
• LayerZero: An omnichain protocol that enables interoperability between Astar zkEVM and Astar parachains
• The Graph: An indexing protocol for organizing blockchain data and making it easily accessible with GraphQL
• Rarible: An NFT marketplace for Ethereum NFTs and Astar zkEVM NFTs
• Dew: One of the largest NFT marketplaces in the Polygon ecosystem
• Startale: Astar's primary Web 3.0 infrastructure provider

"Yoki Origins" campaign to be held in conjunction with mainnet release

According to the announcement, Aster will hold its own launch campaign "Yoki Origins" immediately after the mainnet release. In this campaign, NFTs provided by over 40 Web 3.0 projects, creators, and large companies will be distributed and sold in capsule toy format. By collecting these NFTs, it is said that you can grow "Yoki," an original character provided by Aster.

The campaign will introduce a social login function using SNS accounts and a function to purchase NFTs with a credit card, providing an easy user experience even for those who have never touched crypto assets (virtual currencies). By making it easy to experience Web 3.0, the campaign aims to accelerate the popularization of Web 3.0.

The campaign will deepen collaboration with Japanese companies and local governments, create world-leading examples, and lead the global expansion of Japanese IP content such as games and anime.
