On the 19th, DEA (Digital Entertainment Asset Pte. Ltd), a Singapore-based company that operates the GameFi platform, announced that it will begin offering the community tower defense Web 3.0 game "Community Wars," jointly developed with Creek & River, at the end of July.
Communithy Wars is a tower defense game in which communities compete against each other while enjoying "cooperative play with friends" and "supporting the community." In this game, players participate in the game as members of real communities and aim to win.
In the process, players will meet other players and new communities, and deepen their bonds through interactions within the community.
In addition, even if you don't have time to play tower defense games, you can enjoy the game while supporting your favorite community by using the unique "support system." DEA describes this as "a new way to support your favorite community."
It seems that various types of existing communities can participate in the communities that appear in this game. Specific examples include "influencer communities," "official corporate communities," "club activities/circles," and "cryptocurrency communities."
In Communithy Wars, players belong to one of the communities prepared for each season and work together with their teammates to win. In the battle system, players combine cards to build their own deck, and the winning community of the season is determined by the score and flags acquired through the results of the tower defense game. The winning team can earn victory rewards in the form of crypto assets (virtual currency).
The unique "cheering system" allows players to earn rewards by cheering on their favorite community in addition to earning rewards through gameplay.
To use the cheering system, first purchase a "banner NFT." This NFT is a combination of the flags of two communities, and can be equipped to a deck in the game and used as an item NFT.
Next, players participate in or watch the battle, and the ranking is determined by the communities' seasonal flag battle.
After that, the first and second ranked communities and players whose pre-purchased banner NFTs match can earn rewards by burning the banner NFT. It is also possible to continue using the banner NFT as an item NFT without burning it.
According to DEA, the first season is scheduled to run for about one month from the end of July. They also expect six communities to participate in the month, with a goal of about 40 communities participating in six months.
