[NEWS] Japanese Yen stablecoin JPYC registered as third-party prepaid payment method Pre-registration of participating stores begins

Completed registration as a third-party prepaid payment instrument issuer

JPYC Inc., which issues the Japanese yen-linked stablecoin JPYC, announced on the 24th that it had completed registration as a third-party prepaid payment instrument issuer on March 29th of this year.

According to the announcement, JPYC has been in the process of applying since 2021.

In conjunction with this, pre-recruitment for third-party prepaid payment instrument affiliates will begin on the 24th. In the future, users will be able to use JPYC at affiliated stores' stores and e-commerce sites.

The benefit for affiliated stores is that they can redeem JPYC for Japanese yen with a very low payment fee compared to credit cards and QR code payments.

The service will be developed as "JPYCPAY", and the payment fee is scheduled to be 1% as of April 2023. In addition, affiliated stores that have pre-registered will be given benefits such as free promotional space using JPYC media and free POP for announcements.

The license for third-party prepaid payment instruments acquired by JPYC refers to prepaid payment instruments that can be used for payment by stores and service providers other than the issuer. Some electronic money and QR code payments fall into this category.

Until now, with the self-operated prepaid payment instruments acquired by JPYC, purchased JPYC could be exchanged for gift certificates (V-Preca, gifteeBox) at the company's "JPYC sales outlet" or for accommodation vouchers for facilities in Kawanehon Town.

However, now that it has been registered as a third-party prepaid payment instrument issuer, JPYC can be used more conveniently and over a wider area.

Currently, JPYC supports various blockchains, including Ethereum (ETH), Polygon (MATIC), and Aster Network (ASTR).
