Konami Digital Entertainment announced on the 21st that it will release the NFT marketplace "Resella" at Tokyo Game Show 2023, which began on the same day.
Resella will focus on creating an environment where in-game items and characters converted into NFTs can be easily bought and sold.
It appears that the company has simplified procedures such as wallet preparation and gas fees (fees), which are major obstacles in entering the NFT and blockchain games market, through its unique system. Users will also be able to buy and sell NFTs in Japanese yen.
Resella was designed with the assumption that NFTs would not only be used in games, but also in other services, such as in the form of performance tickets and service usage rights. The company is focusing on such "user experience first" efforts and is aiming to expand the Konami brand in the Web 3.0 field.
In addition to this announcement, "PROJECT ZIRCON" was also officially announced at Tokyo Game Show 2023 as a game co-creation project using blockchain.
The project is based on the concept that users can "co-create a fantasy world," and is Konami's first Web 3.0 project.
Users can hold their characters as NFTs and participate in the creation of a fictional world by deciding their names, profiles, abilities, etc. In the future, the project aims to develop into a game, as well as various media such as anime and novels.
This announcement was announced in advance through the official X (formerly Twitter) account, which was launched on the 11th of this month.
The launch date of PROJECT ZIRCON has not yet been announced. In addition, the aforementioned Lisela plans to start its service in conjunction with the release of PROJECT ZIRCON.
