[NEWS] Mazda launches first NFT collection "Meta-Mazda" using Astar zkEVM

Mazda launched its first NFT art collection, "Meta-Mazda," on the 5th. Hakuhodo Keithley supported the launch. The company is developing it in collaboration with MAZDA Driver Identity, the winning team of the "web3 Global Hackathon 2023" held at the end of last year.

It can be purchased in limited quantities and for a limited time through the capsule toy campaign "Yoki Origins" run by Astar Network, a public blockchain company from Japan.

Meta-Mazda is the first NFT art work created by Mazda, a Japanese automobile manufacturer. It is an example of Mazda's entry into the digital realm and its potential to utilize NFTs. Mazda will continue to explore the possibilities of new digital experiences that incorporate the latest technologies, including Web 3.0.

The work announced this time is the first in Mazda's NFT collection, and will be positioned as a symbolic piece in the future.

The work features the Mazda brand icon, the Roadster, and combines subculture with Japanese beauty.

There are 10 types in the collection. There are four types of "Mazda x Four Seasons of Japan", one type of "Mazda x Astar", one type of "Mazda x Hiroshima", two types of "NA/ND Roadster Special", and two types of "secret".

The sales period is scheduled for April 5th to May 6th, 2024. The price is 0.003 ETH, and the total number of units issued is 22,222.

What is Yoki Origins?

Yoki Origins is a unique campaign by Astar Network to commemorate the launch of "Astar zkEVM", developed as a layer 2 blockchain of Ethereum.

In this campaign, NFTs provided by over 40 Web 3.0 projects, creators, and large companies will be distributed and sold in the form of capsule toys, and by collecting these NFTs, you can grow the original character "Yoki" provided by Astar Network.

The campaign will introduce a social login function using SNS accounts and a credit card NFT payment function, providing an easy user experience even for users who have never handled crypto assets (virtual currencies).

Astar zkEVM aims to be a layer 2 blockchain that inherits the security of Ethereum, achieves high-speed processing and low gas fees, and implements expansion tools such as credit card payments for crypto assets and NFTs, making it easy for anyone to use.

It is the first layer 2 blockchain to utilize the "Polygon CDK" provided by Polygon Labs, and it is possible to use development code on Ethereum and Polygon (MATIC) as is. The world's largest NFT marketplaces "Rarible" and "Dew", and Quickswap, the largest DEX on Polygon, are compatible with Astar zkEVM.
