[NEWS] Palette and others launch fundraising project in response to Noto Peninsula earthquake; Aster and Oasis also carrying out support activities

Support activities through crypto assets by the Web 3.0 project

The aftermath of the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on the 1st is still continuing. Ishikawa Prefecture announced on the 5th that as of the morning of that day, the number of confirmed deaths had reached 92, and the number of people missing had reached 242.

As the extent of the damage gradually becomes clear, the "Web3 pray for Japan" campaign has been launched in the cryptocurrency (virtual currency) field, led by eight projects, with the aim of providing support and relief to the victims of the Noto Peninsula earthquake.

This campaign is being carried out with the support of eight cryptocurrency projects, including Palette Chain by HashPalette, TRON, Cardano, Polygon, NEO, Mask Network, Qtum, and IOST.

Each project has set up a donation window using its own token and is calling for donations to the community. Donations are made by transferring cryptocurrency to a designated wallet address.

The entire amount of the donated cryptocurrency, excluding gas fees and taxes, will be converted into Japanese yen and donated to the Red Feather Community Chest's "2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake Relief Fund." The donation results will be reported on Hashpalette's official website.

The donation period will be until the end of January, and the donation and results will be announced at the end of February.

Astar Network and Oasis also carry out their own support activities.

The campaign is a disaster support campaign that utilizes blockchain and promotes international cooperation in the cryptocurrency community.

After the earthquake, Astar Network announced that it had opened a disaster support donation site through the project's foundation and Startale Labs.

Founder Sota Watanabe said on his X that "the advantage of Web 3.0 is that it allows people from all over the world to donate quickly," indicating his intention to continue providing support.

Oasys, a game-focused blockchain company, also reported that it has opened a donation page. The cryptocurrencies that can be donated are Oasis (OAS), Ethereum (ETH), and Bitcoin (BTC).
