Pacific Meta to Host "Blockchain Summit 2026 Autumn" on October 5

6 Sessions Unveiled for "Blockchain Summit 2026 Autumn"

On September 17, Pacific Meta unveiled the second round of details—including six sessions and speaker lineups—for "Blockchain Summit 2026 Autumn," an international blockchain conference set to take place at Otemachi Sankei Plaza in Tokyo on Monday, October 5, 2026. Attendance is free of charge, subject to advance registration and approval.

This event marks the second installment following the inaugural "Blockchain Summit 2026 by Credit Saison and Pacific Meta" in February 2026. First announced on March 31, the summit brings together domestic and international financial institutions, blockchain companies, and startups to discuss the latest trends and business opportunities for blockchain in finance.

From Financial Institutions to a16z Crypto: Exploring the Current State of Implementation

The announced sessions will cover four key domains: stablecoin payments and treasury management, the AI economy, the tokenization of Japanese real-world assets (RWA) and government bonds, and crypto ETFs. Speakers from organizations including JCB, SBI VC Trade, Mizuho Bank, Nomura Holdings, Mitsui & Co., Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities, a16z crypto, and Aptos Labs will offer frontline perspectives on the current state of implementation and remaining challenges.

In the payment session, "Becoming 'Everyday' Infrastructure for Humans and AI," Tomoaki Yamaguchi (General Manager of Innovation Department, JCB) and Tomohiko Kondo (President & CEO, SBI VC Trade) will take the stage to discuss coexistence with legacy payment methods and the future possibilities of AI agents making transactions on behalf of humans. Meanwhile, "From Payments to Asset Management: Expanding Stablecoin Adoption" will feature speakers such as Michihiko Kasai (President & CEO, au Coincheck Digital Assets) and Noritaka Okabe (CEO, JPYC) exploring the single-wallet user experience combining payments and asset management, as well as where those underlying funds flow.

Additionally, Shinsuke Waka (Senior Advisor, Mitsui & Co.) will speak on tokenizing Japanese real-world assets. Experts from Mizuho Bank, Nomura Holdings, and Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities will examine government bond tokenization and its roadmap to commercialization, while executives from Franklin Templeton Japan and Coincheck will address the regulatory frameworks and market infrastructure required for crypto ETFs.

Special Partners: Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, KDDI, Mitsui & Co., and Mizuho Bank

Organized by Pacific Meta Group, the summit features special collaboration from Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, KDDI, Mitsui & Co., and Mizuho Bank. Optimism joins as a Gold Sponsor, with the Solana Foundation and Aptos serving as Silver Sponsors. The event is endorsed by "GenAI / SUM," an AI conference hosted by Nikkei Inc., with both events partnering to deepen discussions at the intersection of AI and blockchain technology. Additionally, Iolite is participating as an official media partner.

Bringing together major financial institutions, enterprise corporations, and global crypto VCs and L1 protocols to discuss the current state of implementation reflects a pivotal shift: domestic on-chain finance in Japan is evolving from proof-of-concept (PoC) testing toward real-world commercialization.

What is Blockchain Summit?

The inaugural summit took place on February 25, 2026, at the Tekko Building as an official side event of "Japan Fintech Week 2026," hosted by Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA). Co-hosted with Credit Saison under the theme of "Blockchain x Finance," the event featured over 50 speakers from domestic and international financial institutions. Pre-registration exceeded 1,200 participants, with actual turnout reaching approximately 550 attendees. Key speakers included representatives from the FSA, Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Mizuho Financial Group, Credit Saison, Mitsui & Co., Nomura Holdings, a16z crypto, and Circle.

According to Pacific Meta, the decision to host the second summit was driven by strong demand for a recurring event, as well as rapid market expansion and advancing domestic regulatory frameworks.
