[NEWS] Square Enix's first NFT project "SYMBIOGENESIS" officially launched

On the 21st, major game company Square Enix announced that it has officially launched its first NFT collectible art project, "SYMBIOGENESIS."

SYMBIOGENESIS is a project based on a new IP announced by Square Enix in November last year, and the official launch of the service has been eagerly awaited.

The title is a fantasy adventure in which users exchange information with each other on Discord to progress through the story and search for hidden items.

Users will solve puzzles while reading the story and hints in order to fight against the "dragon" that suddenly attacks the floating continent where the story takes place.

In SYMBIOGENESIS, players will enjoy strategic actions and story considerations on a floating continent where many characters that have been turned into NFT collectible art coexist.

Square Enix explains that in addition to using purchased art as SNS icons (PFP) and interacting in a dedicated community, the high level of gameplay that unfolds as NFT collectible art is also a feature.

Currently, SYMBIOGENESIS can only be played on the Google Chrome browser.

Support for other browsers has not yet been decided.

In addition, to play, you will need to prepare a two-step authentication Discord account and a cryptocurrency wallet called Metamask.

Supported chains are Ethereum (ETH) and Polygon (MATIC).

Supported languages ​​are English and Japanese.

Square Enix has long been active in the development of blockchain games.

In 2021, it released an NFT digital sticker for "Asset Million Arthur" in collaboration with double jump.tokyo, and last year it participated as an initial validator for the game-specialized blockchain Oasys.

Square Enix is ​​expected to continue to focus on blockchain games, and it is expected to utilize major IP such as "Dragon Quest" and "Final Fantasy".
