On the 13th, blockchain analysis company Arkham released the cryptocurrency holdings of celebrities with more than 1 million followers on X (formerly Twitter). Among them, former US President Donald Trump was found to be at the top.
According to the data, Trump holds cryptocurrency worth $7 million (approximately 1.1 billion yen). The breakdown of cryptocurrency is as follows: $4.85 million (755 million yen) for MAGA (TRUMP), a meme coin themed around Trump, and $1.27 million (approximately 197 million yen) for Ethereum (ETH). Others include MVP, CONAN, and BABYTRUMP. When Trump sold his NFT collection "TRUMP," he received the proceeds in Ethereum.
Trump is campaigning for the US presidential election in November this year, and recently suggested that he is willing to accept cryptocurrency donations. "If you can't do that (donate with cryptocurrency), I'll make it possible. Can you donate to the Trump campaign using cryptocurrency? I believe the answer is yes," he said.
He has also taken a proactive stance on cryptocurrency-related policies, saying, "If you support cryptocurrency, you should vote for Trump."
Star names line up from second place onwards
Following Trump, artist Justin Bieber ranked second. He is said to own about $450,000 (about 70 million yen), with more than 90% of that in Ethereum.
Furthermore, soccer player Neymar came in third, and comedians Jimmy Fallon and Kevin Hart came in fourth and fifth, respectively.
During the peak of NFT trading, celebrities such as Bieber and Fallon made headlines by purchasing collections such as BAYC (Bored Ape Yacht Club) for millions of dollars.
