In February of this year, DeFimans signed an exclusive partnership with Messari, the largest research company in the Web 3.0 field, and "Messari Japan" was born. This event was held to commemorate Messari's entry into Japan.
The event was hosted by DeFimans and supported by the following sponsors and media partners.
"This year will be a decisive year"
In his opening remarks, Nobuo Ono, CEO of DeFimans, the organizer of the event, said that he would like to support the onboarding of Messari in Japan, which became his partner, by running the event with the desire to "not only create materials, but also to support execution."
He also said, "I feel a heavy sense of responsibility in having signed an exclusive contract with Messari. I believe this year will be a decisive year, so I would like to responsibly focus my resources on it."

Following that, Taishi Sato, also CEO, explained the contents of Messari's project, and finally spoke about his future outlook, saying, "We want to provide global-level reports to those who are responsible for Web 3.0 in order to bridge the language barrier, and push up the Japanese Web 3.0 industry."

Chris Ngo, head of Asia at Messari, also attended the event. He explained that the reason Messari expanded its business in Japan is because "Japanese government policies are becoming Web 3.0 native," and that "we believe there will be demand for Messari's services among businesses that are developing new Web 3.0 businesses," and concluded by saying that he is pleased to be expanding his services in Japan.
AI and Web 3.0 are "national strategies that must be advanced together"
The moderator for this event was Yuka Tanimoto, editor-in-chief of Forbes Japan web, and the speaker was Masaaki Taira, member of the House of Representatives and chair of the LDP web3 project team (PT). In a session titled "Making Japan a web3 advanced nation!" Web3 policies in the national strategy and the latest trends of the LDP web3PT, Web3 policies as a national strategy were discussed.

First, Taira mentioned the continuing popularity of AI, emphasizing, "Some people say that the rise of AI has put an end to Web 3.0, but that's not true. AI and Web 3.0 are national strategies that must be advanced together."
He then touched on the proposal made by the LDP's web3 project team in the "web3 White Paper 2024" recently, which stated that "profits and losses from cryptocurrency transactions should be subject to separate taxation," and said, "The tax environment is gradually being improved. We still recognize that capital gains tax and the fact that taxes are incurred even when exchanging cryptocurrencies are issues."
He also mentioned the progress of limited liability company-type DAOs, noting that this is the first time that the nation has clearly stipulated this in law, and expressed his hopes for the revitalization of DAO-related efforts in the future.
He also stated that he is particularly focused on the gaming sector going forward, and that resolving the cryptocurrency tax system will be important in order to make blockchain games more seamless to play. In addition, he said that NFTs are a good fit for providing local value as a special experience, such as in the case of "Hometown Tax x Web 3.0 x NFT."
A host of impressive speakers brightened up the event
In the panel discussion titled "The Future of Asset Management," Mr. Ono of DeFimans, the organizer of the event, served as moderator, and speakers included Mr. Koichi Kano of SBI Zodia Custody, Mr. Hideaki Kudo of Laser Digital Japan, and Mr. Naoki Morita of ABeam Consulting.
Topics discussed included investment and trading trends in the Web 3.0 field, and wallet management. Generally, the opinions were that current Web 3.0 native users have multiple wallets, making management cumbersome, and that further environmental improvements, including tax systems, are necessary from the perspective of businesses.
In addition, comments were heard such as "There is a possibility that the B to B model of Web 3.0 business will grow even more," and "This field will be shaped through dialogue with users. We cannot miss this opportunity."

In the final session, "ID x web3 Frontline," Ono acted as moderator, and the speakers were Hideki Shibata of Kort Valuta and Yuki Shibatake of Cryptoya LLC.
In this discussion, the topic was discussed as to what kind of world will emerge when ID is involved with blockchain and Web 3.0. He also made a striking remark about the current situation of the proliferation of wallets, saying that it is "similar to a browser war," which was agreed with by the participants.
Furthermore, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, was mentioned as a very proactive local government in terms of taking on new initiatives, and in light of the city's sandbox system and its status as a national strategic special zone, it was introduced as "an environment that is easy for new businesses to take on challenges."

Overall, the event showed high expectations
The "Messari Japan KICK-OFF Party," which celebrated Messari's entry into Japan, also had time for networking, and participants were able to actively interact with each other. The event also attracted many more participants than the organizers had initially expected, which shows the high expectations for Messari Japan.

In the Web 3.0 field, where daily information gathering is extremely important, creating an environment where Japanese players can easily obtain information and trends from overseas will greatly contribute to the development of Web 3.0, which has been established as a national strategy. Once again, this event was an opportunity to feel the importance of creating an environment for such information and the expectations for the development of the Web 3.0 field in Japan.
