During the World Cup, the names of countries we might not usually think about suddenly feel much more familiar—whether they are Japan’s opponents, teams that advanced to the knockout stage, or favorites to win the title. Soccer often sparks curiosity, prompting many of us to spend more time than usual looking at world maps and wondering, "Where exactly is that country located?"
Since our attention is already drawn to the unique characteristics of these nations, it would be a shame to limit our interest solely to soccer. Personally, I found myself wanting to dig deeper, asking questions like, "How does this country's monetary system work?" and "How are they engaging with crypto assets and digital finance?"
Under normal circumstances, terms like Pix, stablecoins, Drex, MiCA, and tokenization might seem a bit daunting or complex. However, by using the World Cup participating nations as a starting point, I was able to explore these concepts while keeping the excitement of the tournament in mind.
In last week’s BitTrade Market Report, we published two articles that approach the subject from this perspective.
