"How can I get a shirt?" — WebX 2026 from the perspective of a booth

At large conferences, simply walking a full circuit of the venue can take up the entire day.

You want to catch the presentations and visit the booths. You strike up casual conversations whenever you run into acquaintances, and come evening, side events are taking place all over Tokyo. By the time you head home, your bags are stuffed with business cards and swag—and some people even win massive prizes that look like a real hassle to carry back. For WebX 2026, too, side events hosted by participating companies and communities were held across the city alongside the official program.

At WebX 2026, held on July 13 and 14 at The Prince Park Tower Tokyo, I had the opportunity to staff the UPCX booth on behalf of BitTrade.

Once the event wraps up, the conversation inevitably turns to the question: "How was WebX this year?" Here, I’d like to reflect on the experience not just from the perspective of someone walking the floor, but also from the viewpoint of someone manning a booth and interacting directly with attendees.
