Nice to meet you all. I am Daisuke Hakkaku from Okaycoin Japan.
I am pleased to be writing a series of articles on trends in crypto assets. I will be discussing Web 3.0 related topics and our company's services in the future.
OK Group is a Japanese subsidiary of the OK Group, which operates a global blockchain business and operates OKCoinJapan, a crypto asset trading service.
In the first part of this series, the Iolite editorial team interviewed us about OKCoinJapan.
Q: Tell us about OKCoinJapan's strengths in handling new crypto assets.
Hakkaku: In 2023, we have announced the start of handling 15 new crypto assets to date, including the first crypto assets to be handled in Japan, such as Arbitrum (ARB) and Sui (SUI). Currently, the number of crypto assets handled is 35, and OKCoinJapan ranks first in Japan in terms of the number of issues handled for board trading, on which it focuses, with 34 (as of the time of writing).
In order to bring projects that are attracting attention on a global level to the Japanese public as quickly as possible, OKCoin Japan focuses on the following.
The first point is to work with projects. We are in constant and close communication both online, domestically and internationally, and offline, so that we can quickly catch up on project trends and other information.
Secondly, development speed: OKCoin Japan has a speedy development system by utilising global-level technology and know-how.
Thirdly, we are creative. We differentiate ourselves by developing services and campaigns that cannot be found anywhere else.
Q: Many events were held in 2023 in Japan, can you tell us about your company's initiatives?
Hakkaku: We are always actively involved in events such as WebX and other events related to Web 3.0 and blockchain games.
Specifically, we co-host offline events with the IOST Foundation with the aim of fostering a community, and participate in events of the student organisation WeCreate3 to educate young people about blockchain technology and Web 3.0.
We also organise unique campaigns such as the ‘Student Discount Campaign’ for students, as we want young people to actually experience crypto assets.
Q: Are there any services you would like to focus on in the future?
Hakkaku: Please look forward to new services in the future. As for existing services, we would like to focus on staking services. It has been well received as a secure means of managing our crypto assets, and in IOST Staking, our validator node voting rate is the highest in the world (at the time of writing).
In addition, in order to make our staking service known to as many people as possible, we are the only company in the country to offer a campaign service called Flash Deals, which allows customers to deposit their crypto assets for a limited time and receive high rewards.
Q: Finally, please give a few words to our readers.
Hakkaku: We are always conscious of being user-friendly and will make further efforts to provide a fulfilling trading environment so that our customers can use OKCoinJapan safely and securely.

Daisuke Hakkaku is the COO of Okaycoin Japan K.K. After graduating from university, he joined a financial IT company, where he was in charge of supporting the introduction of stock trading systems and new businesses. In 2022, he joined OKCoin Japan K.K., where he is in charge of new service promotion, marketing, etc.
