OKCoinJapan COO Daisuke Yakaku talks about "Educating the younger generation about Web 3.0"

Cryptocurrency industry trends

In this fifth installment of our series, we will talk about our company's efforts to expose young people to blockchain technology and Web 3.0, which will be the foundation of next-generation finance.

As I speak with various people every day, I am particularly impressed by the understanding and positive attitude of young people, especially students, toward Web 3.0. Web 3.0 is now positioned as a national project, and I believe it is meaningful for me, as someone in the industry, to educate young people about the various aspects of this project from a broad perspective.

As part of our awareness-raising activities, I would like to introduce the offline events we are working on.

Offline event example #1

Recently, we participated in the 8th offline event of "COLORS", organized by Rainbow Chain, with the concept of "students can listen to Web 3.0 and freely interact with each other".

This event attracted a wide range of people, from high school students to people active in the Web 3.0 field. It is often said that "crypto assets are essential items for entering and exiting Web 3.0", but for students who are not familiar with uses such as "investment" and "business settlement", the opportunity to come into contact with Web 3.0 is NFTs in game content and live events that are familiar in everyday life.

Based on this background, we not only introduced our company as a cryptocurrency exchange, but also introduced collaboration examples with popular NFT projects and career characteristics in this industry.

In addition, in order to touch on the investment aspect, which is gaining attention due to ETF approval, we explained the market capitalization of Bitcoin (BTC) compared to large US companies and gold. With a market capitalization of approximately $1.3 trillion, BTC is on par with the GAFAM cryptocurrencies, including Microsoft, which leads the IT industry.
