Cryptocurrency market trends

I'm Masamichi Matsushima, a.k.a. Marin, a cryptocurrency analyst at Monex Securities. In this article, I'll be looking back at the Bitcoin market since the start of 2025 and giving my outlook for the future.

Year-to-date rate of increase/decrease (as of February 24, 2025)

Since January 2025, Bitcoin has risen significantly around President Trump's inauguration, reaching a new all-time high. At one point, it exceeded 17 million yen per BTC. However, the cryptocurrency-related presidential order only evaluated the possibility of creating a Bitcoin reserve, and it fell sharply due to disappointment.
