[NEWS] Captain Tsubasa: Rivals announced as the most played blockchain game in 2023

Most Played Blockchain Games

On the 11th, BLOCKSMITH & Co. announced that the Web 3.0 game "Captain Tsubasa - RIVALS," co-developed with Mint Town, was the most played blockchain game in 2023 in the "Online Game Market Survey 2024" by JOGA (Japan Online Game Association).

According to the "JOGA Online Game Market Survey Report 2024" released by JOGA on the 10th, the game was listed as the most played title by users in the survey items related to blockchain games.

In addition to data related to the domestic online game market, this market survey report includes average operation service-related costs per game title, average game development costs, advertising and promotions that were effective in attracting customers, ARPU (Average Revenue Per Use) and ARPPU (Average Revenue Per Paid User) charges by PC and smartphone game users.

The online game market is 1.61 trillion yen, and the average development cost of smartphone games is 465 million yen.

"Captain Tsubasa: RIVALS" is a new blockchain game that uses the IP of "Captain Tsubasa," a representative Japanese soccer manga. It features authentic gameplay that allows players from the original work to be trained with NFTs and compete against other players.

You can enjoy three modes: "Rival Mode," which reproduces the original work, "PvP Mode," where you can compete online with players and support characters, and "Arena Mode," which realizes authentic PvP with 11 players.

Each NFT player comes with a 3D video of their special move that is played in the game, and generative background music by musician, producer, and DJ Shinichi Osawa (MONDO GROSSO).

In January of this year, iOS and Android versions were released, allowing even more users to play. The smartphone version also introduces credit card payment in the billing process.

In the browser version, you need to purchase at least one player card as an initial fee, which costs about 98MATIC (about 8,000 yen), but the smartphone version can be played for free. Player cards can be bought and sold on the NFT market, and if you raise them to the next level of uncommon, they can go for about 580MATIC (about 47,500 yen), and sometimes even more.

Over 100,000 pre-registered users

The number of pre-registered users for the smartphone version exceeded 100,000. This shows how much potential the game has. The browser version and the app version are cross-playable.

In addition, in November last year, the TSUBASA governance token TSUGT for Captain Tsubasa: Rivals was listed on the domestic cryptocurrency (virtual currency) exchange BitPoint. Furthermore, on January 23rd of this year, it was listed and traded on the cryptocurrency exchange Bitget.

TSUGT was designed and developed with the aim of strongly connecting the management team and the player community and fostering a cooperative environment in project development. Currently, TSUGT is fluctuating around 1.7 yen.

By holding $TSUGT, users can receive various benefits, such as invitations to closed fan meetings and NFTs exclusive to token holders.
