[NEWS] Coincheck to list on Nasdaq in the US; trading expected to begin in December

Monex Group, the parent company of domestic cryptocurrency exchange Coincheck, announced on the 13th that the registration statement submitted to the SEC (U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission) for the listing of its Dutch-based subsidiary CCG (Coincheck Group B.V.) on the Nasdaq in the U.S. went into effect on the 12th Eastern Time.

As a result, it is expected to be listed on Nasdaq as early as December.

According to the announcement, the general meeting of THCP (Thunder Bridge Capital Partners Ⅳ, Inc.), a U.S. SPAC (special purpose acquisition company), will be held on the 5th of next month. CCG and THCP are scheduled to merge on the 10th.

The start date of trading of CCG's stock is scheduled to be the day after the merger. The ticker will be traded as CNCK.

Coincheck announced its plan to list on Nasdaq through a business integration with THCP in March 2022. Due to delays to the initial schedule, it announced a postponement in July last year.

Among domestic cryptocurrency exchanges, Mixi, which is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime, has announced that Bitbank is preparing to go public. Bitbank is an equity method affiliate of Mixi and Ceres, which is also listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime.

According to the July announcement, the listing is subject to approval from the relevant authorities, and the planned timing and market for the listing have not yet been decided. It also mentioned that the listing may be canceled depending on the review of the preparation process.
