[NEWS] KEKKAI raises 230 million yen from investment funds including SBI and announces new service "KEKKAI Mobile"

On the 23rd, Web 3.0 security company KEKKAI announced that it had raised 230 million yen in a seed round. The investors include 14 companies, including the Decima Fund, which is jointly funded by SBI, Animoca Brands, Gumi, and MZ Crypto, as well as Bixin Ventures, Sora Ventures, and Plug and Play, which invest in Web 3.0 projects globally.

KEKKAI currently offers the PC browser extension KEKKAI Plugin, which has 20,000 users, for individual users. For corporations, it offers KEKKAI SDK/API and a new code auditing business called KEKKAI Audit.

KEKKAI Audit is a service in which KEKKAI reviews dApps built on the blockchain and vulnerabilities, including hacking risks, of smart contracts before deployment, and creates a report summarizing the results and security scores.

Browser app "KEKKAI Mobile" released as new service

KEKKAI also announced the release of a new browser app "KEKKAI Mobile" with Web 3.0 security as standard.

"KEKKAI Mobile" is a free browser app for Web 3.0 users that provides a new security experience. It aims to protect individual users from hacking and leaking of crypto assets, and simulates and analyzes the contents of transactions in detail when they are executed or signed, and notifies users of the contents and risks of the transaction.

KEKKAI points out that the Web 3.0 experience on conventional smartphones was dependent on the security functions of the wallet. In addition, KEKKAI users who use the browser version of the app had consulted and requested that the security on smartphones was insufficient and they were worried about it, which led to the development of the browser app.

The newly announced "KEKKAI Mobile" has a new point function. Points can be earned by using KEKKAI to trade crypto assets and other items, or by introducing KEKKAI to friends. The points earned can be exchanged for items, and a system has been implemented in which regular rewards are given according to the points held.

The funds raised this time will be used to further enhance these services. Specific uses include "updating consumer security products," "implementing marketing measures aimed at improving security literacy in the market," and "expanding security services for businesses such as audits."

In addition, the company plans to create new employment opportunities for members in anticipation of business expansion. In the future, it plans to strengthen recruitment of marketers, ToB sales, HR, engineers, Web 3.0 researchers, etc.

Founded in 2023, KEKKAI has a vision of "a Web 3 that everyone can feel safe with," and is developing security services for both individuals and businesses.

Shortly after its founding, in February last year, it raised 50 million yen from Skyland Ventures in a pre-seed round of funding.
