Toyota GR collaborates with photography game "SNPIT" and special edition camera also released

Proposing a new way to enjoy motorsports

On the 19th, Toyota GAZOO Racing (hereinafter, TGR), Toyota Motor Corporation's motorsports brand, announced a collaboration with SNPIT, a photography game that allows users to enjoy taking photos with their smartphones.

Through this series of initiatives, the company aims to spread new ways of enjoying motorsports through games and digital media.

Until now, the focus of motorsports viewing has been on watching and cheering on the races on the circuit. However, by adding the act of "taking photos" to this way of enjoying motorsports, the company aims to establish a new style of participation in motorsports in a more active way.

What is SNPIT?

SNPIT is a "Snap to Earn" game that can be enjoyed by taking photos with a smartphone camera. Users can take photos of landscapes or everyday scenes, compete with each other to see who took the better photo, and earn points.

TGR explains that it decided to collaborate with SNPIT because it resonated with the idea of SNPIT, which was created with the aim of creating an opportunity to discover new charms such as the beauty of nature and landscapes and the importance of culture through photography. In the future, TGR plans to continue efforts to rediscover the charm of motorsports, such as the power of the vehicles and the excitement of the race venue, through SNPIT.

Special edition camera items now available

To commemorate this collaboration, a limited edition digital camera item based on the colors red, white, and black that embody the worldview of TGR will be available in SNPIT. According to TGR, by taking pictures using this camera, you can earn more bonus points than usual.

Only 300 items are planned to be sold, and they can be purchased with in-app currency or credit card. The price is equivalent to 30,000 yen including tax.

A special event was already held on the 15th of this month to exhibit formula cars with the aim of allowing people to experience motorsports up close. In addition, a special project for all SNPIT users is planned for the 6th round of the All Japan Super Formula Championship to be held at Fuji Speedway from the 18th of next month.

This special project will provide a participatory experience that can be enjoyed through on-site photography, and content is being prepared that will allow people to feel the realism and appeal of motorsports.

TGR says it will continue to take on new initiatives using games and digital technology in order to convey the appeal of motorsports to more people.
