As the term and field of Web 3.0 attracts more attention, the public and private sectors are working together to tackle the issue.

The number of people entering the industry is gradually increasing, but it is still true that many companies and projects are struggling with a shortage of human resources. The reasons for the lack of growth in entrants include the complexity unique to the field, the difficulty of grasping the actual business situation, and the lack of a clear image of Web 3.0.

This event was organized by RainbowChain Co., Ltd. as an official event of Japan Blockchain Week 2023, which is supported by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, with the aim of creating an opportunity to learn about, experience, and interact with Web 3.0.

The first WEB3 BIZDEV SUMMIT -BLUE- was held at DMM headquarters in September last year, and the second event was held in December of the same year.

Looking at the field of Web 3.0 from various perspectives

    ▶︎Speaking companies and projects

This was the third time the event was held, and the focus was on companies and projects that are actually engaged in Web 3.0-related business, providing an opportunity to learn about their business and initiatives. The aim is to make people realize how interesting the Web 3.0 field is by looking at it from various perspectives.

12 companies and projects were invited from Japan and overseas, and Bizdev leaders who are active on the front lines of the Web 3.0 industry every day took to the stage. As a special guest, TASUKU2023, who boasts one of the best achievements in AI art in Japan and is also active at AiHUB, which develops image generation AI, also appeared as a speaker.

The event was bustling with people even before the pitches began. I feel that the high degree of freedom for each person to listen to the pitches and interact at their own pace also led to increased satisfaction among participants.

Focusing on IEO as a major exchange, and focusing on UBI as a project attracting worldwide attention

    ▶︎RainbowChain・Amayumi

    ▶ Yamato, bitFlyer

    ▶Worldcoin・0xYuzu

At the opening, Rainbow Chain's representative Amegumi gave a speech. His words conveyed his desire to make people feel the joy of the Web 3.0 field.

Afterwards, 0xYuzu from Worldcoin, which was founded by bitFlyer's Group Business Strategy Department Deputy General Manager Shogo Yamato and Sam Altman, co-founder and CEO of OpenAI, which is attracting attention as the developer of ChatGPT, took the stage.

Yamato touched on Japan's global influence in the Web 3.0 field, and it was clear that bitFlyer will focus on IEOs to make further progress. 0xYuzu also stated that AI has the potential to replace many jobs, and that UBI (Universal Basic Income) could become important. Worldcoin is prepared to continue working to connect this to the funds for UBI.

The world of blockchain and AI art is becoming more and more precise

    ▶︎TASUKU2023

In the next pitch, haruchi from the Japanese community of Ava Labs, which develops the Avalanche blockchain, and Yasu from Oasis, a domestic game-specific blockchain, took the stage and each explained the current status and role of the project.

The fifth speaker, Yoshinobu Tatsumi from Zipangcoin, mentioned that the company has a medium- to long-term vision for the stablecoin linked to gold, and showed his intention to release tokens linked to various physical assets in the future.

After that, SBINFT gave a case study of the use of SBT as a certificate, YGG Japan discussed the current issues in blockchain games and Web 3.0, such as the priority being given to finance, and PBADAO spoke about the need to lower the barrier to entry for wallets in order to promote the "massification of Web 3.0."

When TASUKU2023 took the stage as a special AI art speaker, it felt like the excitement in the venue had increased even more.

He spoke about ChilloutMix, a generative AI that specializes in illustrating Asian women, and showed the AI art being created in real time. The participants who saw the beautiful girl art generated by inputting the appropriate prompts were impressed by its high quality.

Digital art is a growing force in the art field, boasting a market size of 9 trillion yen

    ▶Aki, GASHO2.0

As the event drew to a close, NORI from NORIFORCE explained the work of the decentralized social graph protocol Relation. In relation to this summer being positioned as the "Web3 Social Summer," he spoke about the issues that the project can solve.

Next on stage was Makoto Aoki from CoinPost, who explained the company's media business and the large conference "WebX" to be held this summer, followed by Kazuma Iizumi from synschismo, who explained the current issues facing the NFT industry using his company's NFT authentication and rental marketplace services as examples.

The final pitch was by Aki, who also represents GASHO2.0 and is active as an NFT YouTuber.

During the pitch, he mentioned the size of the art market. He pointed out that the market size of food delivery, which grew during the COVID-19 pandemic, is 8 trillion yen, while the market size of art is 9 trillion yen. He stated that digital art is a field that is experiencing rapid growth, and that Japan has valuable creative IP lying dormant, urging the need to make effective use of it.

He also stated that the art industry itself is rigid and old-fashioned, making it difficult to take a new step forward, but he expressed his enthusiasm for breaking through this with Web 3.0 technology.

A place to learn about the current state and potential of the Web 3.0 field

After the pitches, a networking session was held, and the speakers and participants could be seen communicating with each other everywhere. It was also impressive to see people listening intently to the talks at the exhibition booths.

This event provided a comprehensive understanding of the efforts of various companies and projects in the Web 3.0 field. In addition, each speaker explained the main points accurately within the limited time for the pitch, so I felt that the design was easy to understand and listen to even for participants who are not familiar with Web 3.0.

The presence of new entrants is extremely important for the development of emerging fields. First of all, existing industry participants need to firmly expand their entrance, and let them know about the fun and future potential through such events, which will lead to the future.

Overall, this event was a meaningful one that allowed us to touch on the current and hidden potential of the Web 3.0 field.
