What do you think about the current state of the Web 3.0 field?
Yasuo Tezuka (hereinafter, Tezuka): At the beginning of 2024, a Bitcoin spot ETF was listed in the United States, and recently an Ethereum spot ETF was also listed, which greatly increased the asset value and recognition of cryptocurrencies worldwide. In addition, in Japan, tax reforms for corporations have been implemented, and the Web 3.0 business environment is being developed, making it one of the world's leading Web 3.0 business environments.
Against this background, companies' efforts toward Web 3.0 have become more active since 2024. In particular, since it is easy for companies to use NFTs for business purposes, an increasing number of companies are working on measures to utilize NFTs, mainly in the marketing field.
Typical use cases include the use of NFTs in fan marketing, such as in support activities, and in the regional revitalization field, such as digital stamp rallies using NFTs that utilize local tourist resources and specialty products. Recently, NFTs have also been used in the field of internal marketing, where they are distributed within the company to increase employee satisfaction and engagement.
On the other hand, there are many issues where people are so focused on the novelty of NFTs that they end up just distributing them, and do not see any concrete results afterwards. In order to solve these issues, we believe it is important to build a system for "utilizing" NFTs that goes beyond distribution and creates continuous communication with users.
