On the 30th, Binance Japan, a domestic crypto asset (cryptocurrency) exchange, announced the appointment of entrepreneur Arisa Toyosaki as its new representative. Toyosaki will assume the role of General Manager (Representative Director) on July 1st, while the current representative, Takeshi Chino, will transition to the role of Honorary Chairman and Director.
Regarding Toyosaki's appointment, Chino commented, "I am confident that Binance Japan will achieve further development under Ms. Toyosaki's leadership." He also touched upon the partnership with PayPay established last year, adding, "Following the transition to the Toyosaki administration, our partnerships will accelerate even further."
At a press conference, Toyosaki shared her future outlook, stating, "Binance Japan is now entering a growth phase. We will focus heavily on high-quality user acquisition and expanding business viability."
As for the target users, the company will primarily focus on individuals currently trading within traditional financial sectors, while also providing education on crypto assets. In addition, she noted that the company will take a two-pronged approach by introducing new products and strategies tailored to both individual and corporate clients.
Outlining the future strategy, Toyosaki presented "Three Pillars," which specifically consist of: "A Foundation of Trust," "Collaboration with PayPay," and "New Product Deployment."
In particular, regarding the strengthening of the foundation of trust, she expressed her ambitions, stating, "We want to provide the most outstanding digital asset platform and shape the future of the Japanese economy. Japan will grow more and more from here on out. We want to prioritize thinking about what our company can contribute to that growth."
As an example of initiatives she wishes to pursue, Toyosaki mentioned DeFi (Decentralized Finance) services, leveraging her own background. However, she indicated that there are no immediate plans for specific service releases for the time being, demonstrating a stance that prioritizes operating an exchange in compliance with regulations first.
After working at UBS Securities Hong Kong and Google Japan, Toyosaki founded the DeFi service "Cega" in 2022, which she subsequently sold in 2025.
