Asia Web3 Alliance Japan Launches “Japan Financial Infrastructure Innovation Program” with Ripple, Mizuho Bank, and Others

Major Corporations Join as Partners

Asia Web3 Alliance Japan (AWAJ) and Web3 Salon announced on the 24th that they will launch the Japan Financial Infrastructure Innovation Program (JFIIP) in collaboration with Ripple.

Partners participating in the program include JETRO, Mizuho Bank, SMBC Nikko Securities, Securitize Japan, HIRAC FUND, and Toyota Blockchain Lab. Through JFIIP, the initiative aims to support Japanese startups in developing enterprise-grade, regulation-compliant digital financial solutions on various blockchain networks, including the XRP Ledger (XRPL).

According to the announcement, JFIIP reflects Ripple’s intention to help developers scale their businesses by providing support across technical, financial, and business dimensions, thereby further strengthening Japan’s startup ecosystem. By supporting the next generation of Web3 and fintech startups, the program seeks to position Japan as a global leader in regulation-compliant digital finance and financial infrastructure innovation.

The program will focus on promoting innovation across three key areas:

  • Stablecoins and payments
  • Real-world asset (RWA) tokenization
  • Credit infrastructure

Details of JFIIP

Applications for JFIIP are already open, with the application period running from December 19, 2025, to January 18, 2026. From January to February, participating startups will be selected and hands-on mentorship will begin. A Demo Day, co-hosted with JETRO, is scheduled for February 24, where financial institutions, corporate stakeholders, and investors are expected to attend.

Teams that present outstanding products will receive grants of up to USD 10,000 (approximately ¥1.55 million). In addition, four runner-up teams will each be awarded USD 5,000 (approximately ¥770,000).

Furthermore, teams demonstrating exceptional performance may gain priority access to Ripple’s grant ecosystem and opportunities to participate in scale-up programs offered by Web3 Salon.
