On the 10th, cryptocurrency management company Bitwise released a report that made predictions for the cryptocurrency industry next year. In it, they predicted that the price of Bitcoin (BTC) will reach $200,000 (approximately 30.6 million yen) next year.
This report was prepared by Bitwise's CIO Matt Hougan and head of research Ryan Rasmussen. It includes 10 predictions, including Bitcoin's price trends.
In their first prediction, Bitwise said that Bitcoin would reach $200,000, and that Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL) would also reach new highs. The target prices are set at $7,000 (approximately 1.07 million yen) for Ethereum and $750 (approximately 115,000 yen) for Solana. For Ethereum, he cited inflows into physical ETFs, while for Solana, he cited increased demand as an issuing platform for meme coins.
For Bitcoin, he cited the example of gold ETFs and predicted that inflows into physical ETFs will continue to increase for several years. He also stated that he believes it is unlikely that inflows will decrease.
Bitwise also predicts that next year will be a year of IPOs by cryptocurrency-related companies. At least five unicorn companies will be born, and the names of Circle, Figure, Kraken, Anchorage Digital, and Chainalysis are candidates. They explain that the reason for this is that the surrounding environment, including the cryptocurrency market, is changing positively.
In addition, they predict that cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase will be added to the S&P 500 and MicroStrategy to the Nasdaq 100. There are reports that MicroStrategy will be added to the Nasdaq 100 as early as this year. They also said that Coinbase's stock price will trade at more than $700 (about 107,000 yen).
In addition, Bitwise also predicts the price of Bitcoin in 2029, which is a little further into the future. Noting that this year marks the 20th anniversary of Bitcoin's creation, and taking into account the cycle associated with the halving, they predict that the market size of Bitcoin will exceed that of gold, reaching $1 million (approximately 152 million yen) per BTC.
