[NEWS] BLOCKSMITH obtains patent for facial recognition Web 3.0 wallet

Introducing facial recognition and MPC technology

BLOCKSMITH&Co., the company behind the popular blockchain game Captain Tsubasa RIVALS, announced on the 10th that it has obtained a patent for a Web3.0 wallet that utilizes facial recognition technology.

The patent was obtained on the 26th of last month, and wallets that utilize facial recognition technology will be available from this fall.

Conventional cryptocurrency wallets require users to manage their own private keys and seed phrases, which are difficult to recover when lost, and there is a high risk of losing all digital assets.

Even now, there are many cases where people lose their private keys and forget their wallets, resulting in the loss of assets while the assets remain in the wallet.

To solve this problem, BLOCKSMITH has developed the BLOCKSMITH WALLET, which utilizes facial recognition and MPC (multi-party computation) technology.

Multi-party computation is a general term for a secret computation protocol performed by a large number of participants. It is a technology that allows multiple participants to calculate only the values of other input functions while keeping their own input values secret.

BLOCKSMITH WALLET prioritizes the security of user assets and uses "confidential information refresh technology" that utilizes MPC technology.

This technology allows the backup server, user device, and signature server to safely restore confidential information (fragmented private keys) stored in the server while keeping them secret from each other.

This allows confidential information to be updated without changing public information even if the device is changed or lost. As a result, the safety of assets can be ensured in the long term.

The introduction of this technology significantly reduces the risk of losing access to digital assets in the wallet, providing users with a safer and easier to use wallet experience.

BLOCKSMITH WALLET equipped with "confidential information refresh technology" is scheduled to be offered as an in-app feature of the QAQA app from fall 2024.

Offered as an in-app feature of the QAQA app

QAQA (Kaka) is a multiple choice quiz app with short vertical videos. Short vertical videos are also a global trend. You can collect "Chips" by asking quizzes or answering consecutive questions correctly, and exchange the collected chips for the cryptocurrency "BLQS." The BLOCKSMITH WALLET will be incorporated into this app. It is also planned to be applied to "Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS-" afterwards.
