[NEWS] DeFimans holds event to promote Berachain's entry into the Japanese market

Berachain to accelerate expansion into Japan

On the 6th, DeFimans, a consulting firm specializing in the Web 3.0 field, held "Berachain Meeting of the Minds: Tokyo" in collaboration with Berachain.

The event was held with the support of Kudasai, which has strengths in expanding the Web 3.0 community, and extra mile, which operates an IP content platform for Web 3.0, and Iolite and CoinPost were listed as media partners.

Berachain is an EVM-compatible layer-1 blockchain that uses a unique consensus algorithm called "Proof-of-Liquidity (PoL)". In April of this year, it raised $100 million (approximately 15.4 billion yen) in a Series B round from Laser Digital, a subsidiary of Nomura Holdings, Hashkey Capital, Yat Siu of Animoca Brands, and others.

The Berachain Meeting of the Minds: Tokyo was an invitation-only event, with approximately 90 participants. DeFimans stated that the event was an important step in accelerating Berachain's entry into the Japanese market.

Current state of Web 3.0 services

The event also featured a panel discussion on the theme of "The current state of mass adoption of web3 services in Japan and globally."

First, the focus was on the characteristics and potential of the Japanese market from a global perspective, with Smokey, co-founder and CEO of Berachain, stating that the Japanese market has particular appeal in terms of "active efforts toward Web3.0 as a national policy, well-established legal and regulatory frameworks, and abundant IP and content assets." He then explained the background of BellaChain's entry into Japan, and expressed the view that developing particularly attractive IP and content will lead to the promotion of blockchain platform usage.

Under the theme of "Growth strategies for web3 services," Nobusuke Utsumi of extra mile introduced the "Xross Road Project" as an example of IP utilization that he is currently working on. He said that this project will start with characters and novels, and will expand to games and anime in the future. He also explained that the project aims to maximize the market value of Japanese IP, providing new value creation opportunities for the content industry.

Utsumi also said that he will overcome business challenges such as Japanese yen settlement and language barriers, and build a scheme to realize overseas expansion through collaboration with DeFimans. Specifically, they plan to develop an interface for IP holders and support their multimedia strategies overseas.

In the second half of the panel discussion, "Community Management in Web3" was discussed, and Dr. Pudding of Kudasai pointed out the "high language barrier" as a challenge for foreign companies when managing communities in Japan. On the other hand, he pointed out that one advantage of the Japanese market is that regulations are clear, making it relatively easy to comply with laws and regulations.

Creating opportunities for collaboration with leading industry players

Regarding this event, DeFimans commented that "It was a valuable opportunity to get a bird's-eye view of the present and future of Web 3.0 technology." He also stated that he would "continue to create opportunities for collaboration with top players in the industry" in order to contribute to the development of the entire Web 3.0 industry based on this outcome.
