Mercari announced on the 28th that it has launched Mercari NFT, an NFT marketplace where NFTs can be traded. This means that NFTs handled by major NFT marketplaces such as OpenSea can now be bought and sold on Mercari.
Mercari has been working on crypto assets and blockchain, such as providing crypto asset (virtual currency) trading and related services through the crypto asset exchange Mercoin. In the midst of this, the company decided to offer Mercari NFT, which allows the buying and selling of NFTs, in order to expand various value circulations.
Mercari explains that there is no need to open a new crypto asset wallet or account, and that buying and selling can be done through the Mercari app. In addition to being able to purchase NFTs using sales proceeds from Mercari, it is also possible to list purchased NFTs on Mercari NFT.
Currently, payment methods are Mercari Points, Merpay Balance, Merpay Smart Pay (next month payment only), and Mercard (next month payment only).
At the time of launch, NFTs will be sold from popular projects on OpenSea. Going forward, Mercari plans to issue and sell NFT content with domestic and international businesses and IP holders in a variety of categories, including art, trading cards, and entertainment, further expanding Mercari NFT as a digital marketplace.
