OKJ to Launch Trading of Cryptocurrency 'Midnight (NIGHT)' on the 13th, Offering Japan's First Order Book Trading

First Instance of NIGHT Order Book Trading in Japan

On the 10th, cryptocurrency exchange OKJ announced that it will begin offering the cryptocurrency 'Midnight (NIGHT)' starting at 5 PM on October 13th.

The services covered include 'Exchange (Spot Trading)', 'Brokerage', 'Accumulation', and 'Deposits/Withdrawals', with the start time subject to change. The supported chain is the 'Cardano Chain'.

Furthermore, according to OKJ, this will be the first instance of order book trading for 'NIGHT' by a cryptocurrency exchange in Japan.

Overview of Privacy-Focused Layer 1 'Midnight' and NIGHT

Midnight is the native governance token of the privacy-focused Layer 1 blockchain 'Midnight', which utilizes zero-knowledge proof (ZK) technology to process data while keeping it encrypted. It aims to balance practicality with privacy performance, with its mainnet having launched on March 30, 2026.

The project is led by Input Output Global (IOG), the developers of Cardano, and NIGHT was initially distributed through an airdrop within the Cardano ecosystem during its early phase.
