Card Issuance to Proceed Sequentially
On the 20th, Slash Vision announced the launch of the “Slash Card,” a credit card that enables payments using stablecoins. This allows users to make payments with stablecoins in a manner similar to traditional credit cards.
Pre-registration for the Slash Card began in June 2025, and the company will proceed with issuing cards on a rolling basis. Additionally, applications for general consumers are scheduled to open around August 2026.
Promoting the Use of Stablecoins in Everyday Payments
The “Slash Card” was first announced in February 2025, with an initial target issuance date of June of the same year.
For its issuance, Orico serves as the BIN sponsor, handling coordination with international card brands. Aikitas is responsible for customer management and system operations as the card issuer. Meanwhile, Slash Vision acts as the program manager and brand provider, overseeing the development, operation, and branding of the Slash Card.

At launch, the Slash Card supports USDC. According to a previous interview conducted by Iolite, support for other stablecoins such as USDT is expected to be considered in the future.
The Slash Card can be used for payments at Visa merchants both domestically and internationally, just like a traditional credit card.
Users are not required to manually convert stablecoins into fiat currency at the time of payment. On the merchant side as well, payments are settled in fiat currency such as Japanese yen, just like standard card transactions.
Going forward, the three companies aim to promote the use of stablecoins in everyday transactions through the issuance and enhancement of the Slash Card, contributing to the healthy development of Japan’s stablecoin market.
