Soneium Plans to Issue Its Own Token 'SONEIUM'

Details on Domestic Circulation in Japan Under Consideration

On the 26th, Soneium, a Layer 2 blockchain specializing in the entertainment sector, announced plans to issue its own ecosystem token 'SONEIUM'.

Currently, the plan is in the preliminary stages, and the issuance has not been officially decided. According to insiders, details regarding domestic circulation in Japan are also under consideration, and announcements will be made sequentially as policies are finalized.

Additionally, a new mechanism called 'Tokenized IP' was announced, allowing fans to support intellectual property (IP) such as works and characters on the blockchain.

Tokenized IP is a system that brings part of the business activities related to IP, such as merchandise sales, licensing, and new work production, onto the blockchain. This system enables creators and IP holders to raise funds with the support of their fans and communities, facilitating the creation of new works.

Furthermore, in conjunction with the announcement of Tokenized IP, the official platform 'Soneium Portal' was launched as an entry point for participating in the project.

In addition to the announced 'SONEIUM', there are plans to issue 'IP Tokens' linked to individual works and characters. The first project will be the character IP 'Moriusa', developed in collaboration with SUPER STATE HOLDINGS Co., Ltd. The issuance date has not yet been disclosed.

Focus on the Music Sector

Soneium appears to be expanding into the music sector. As part of this initiative, they have launched an 'IP Vault' that allows investment in music royalties through music catalog funds and other means.

Additionally, through a partnership with DayOneDream, they are working on tokenizing royalties from concert ventures of established K-POP artists.

Moving forward, they plan to support not only fundraising but also verifying usage conditions of works and acquiring necessary licenses.
