Ripple is set to host its flagship conference, SWELL 2024, from October 15 to 16 at the Faena Forum in Miami, Florida. This will mark the 8th edition of the event, which first launched in 2017. SWELL is Ripple's premier conference, bringing together the company's clients, industry leaders, and partners from the blockchain and cryptocurrency ecosystem. Over the course of two days, attendees can expect thought-provoking insights, lively discussions, and extensive networking opportunities. As always, Ripple-related updates, particularly regarding XRP, will be a central focus of the event.
Beyond XRP and other cryptocurrencies, SWELL consistently draws attention due to the presence of high-profile figures from the financial sector. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse expressed in August that this year's SWELL will be "the best one yet," demonstrating strong confidence in the upcoming event.
This year's conference is expected to feature prominent industry figures, including Adrienne Harris, Superintendent of the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYSDF); Sheila Bair, former chair of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC); Francisco Maroto, Global Head of Blockchain at BBVA; Tim McCourt, Senior Managing Director at CME Group; and Philip Martin, Chief Security Officer at Coinbase, among others.
For years, Ripple has positioned SWELL as a crucial event for the XRP community, unveiling new partnerships, technologies, and key announcements that often have a direct impact on XRP's price. At last year’s SWELL, XRP's price saw a notable increase during the event, highlighting the market’s interest in Ripple’s developments presented at the conference.
Legal Victory and Market Impact
This year's SWELL also carries added significance due to Ripple's partial legal victory against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) earlier this year. With SEC appeals ongoing, Brad Garlinghouse’s opening remarks at the conference are expected to be particularly influential.
As anticipation builds ahead of SWELL 2024, XRP is trading steadily around $0.60, with a current market capitalization of $33.7 billion. Should Garlinghouse deliver any surprise announcements, XRP's price could see a surge.
