[NEWS] KEKKAI announces implementation of revoke function and surpasses 10,000 downloads worldwide

KEKKAI, a Web 3.0 security company, announced on the 8th that it has implemented a new revoke function on its official website.

In conjunction with this, the company also announced that it will hold a webinar titled "KEKKAI ZONE in Web - Explanation of Revoke and the Latest Trends in Web 3 Security" on the 15th of this month to explain the revoke function and Web 3.0 security.

Revoke means "cancel," and is a transaction that revokes the smart contract approval that grants access rights to tokens. Approval is used in various situations, and a typical example is OpenSea.

For example, when listing an NFT, you hold the NFT yourself, and when the transaction is completed, you approve the authority to send it to the other party to OpenSea. This makes it possible to transfer NFTs via OpenSea, making transactions smoother.

While it is convenient, since approve grants the authority to transfer tokens, there is a risk that it can be misused by fake sites or malicious individuals.

Even if the connection between the wallet and malicious sites is deleted, the access authority will continue to be granted unless the approve is revoked, increasing the risk of assets being stolen.

KEKKAI also pointed out in a press release that there have been many cases of approves granted to legitimate parties being misused, and of people being tricked into approving by scammers.

Therefore, KEKKAI has now implemented a function to improve security by canceling the approve. Specifically, it explained that it is effective in "preventing fraud" and "emergency measures when fraud occurs."

KEKKAI pointed out that there were problems with the previous revoke function, such as "not supporting Japanese," "poor UX and difficult to use," and "not knowing which to revoke."

The newly released revoke function supports Japanese, has a very simple UI/UX design, and has a recommendation function that displays the priority of revokes. This allows for an "easy-to-use and easy-to-understand" user experience.

KEKKAI was founded in January this year and provides the fraud prevention tool "KEKKAI" developed for Web 3.0 users.

KEKKAI is a free browser extension that aims to prevent damage by simulating transactions in the system and clearly showing the results before wallets such as Metamask execute the transactions.

According to the announcement on the 5th, the total number of downloads worldwide has exceeded 10,000. The company plans to continue incorporating user feedback into the product, while improving the security experience in the Web 3.0 area and developing a smartphone version.
