What do you think about the current state of the Web 3.0 field?
Kozo Yamada (hereinafter Yamada): In recent years, a blockchain project called DePIN has been attracting attention in the Web 3.0 field, and I am particularly interested in it.
DePIN is a new approach to operating physical infrastructure in a decentralized network, which makes it possible to develop new products that were difficult to develop using traditional methods, and has great potential, especially in regions and emerging markets where infrastructure development is lagging behind.
The appeal of DePIN is that it reduces costs and enables efficient infrastructure development compared to centralized operations. In addition, sustainable operation is achieved by directly participating users and local communities and being involved in the maintenance and management of the infrastructure. In addition, the transparency of the blockchain is expected to reduce fraud and deficiencies. This allows DePIN to provide services that are easy to understand even for people who have not been interested in crypto assets.
In Japan, where the population is aging and the birthrate is declining, it is becoming difficult for the government alone to maintain and manage the infrastructure nationwide. I believe that DePIN, which encourages individuals to participate in the community by using tokens as rewards and leads to the maintenance and management of infrastructure, will be increasingly used in the future.
