In the so-called Web 2.0 world, SNS has not only made remarkable progress, but has also been used as an important tool. In the Web 3.0 realm, SNS also plays an important role in creating connections, and various services have various personalities and functions. Until now, SNS has managed user data by major companies, but in the Web 3.0 worldview, it is fundamental that individuals own and manage their own data.
In Japan, one well-known Web 3.0 SNS is "Yay!" provided by Nanameue Co., Ltd. Yay!, which has the concept of "a place for everyone" and is being developed as a "virtual world" used by over 8 million people. Nanameue is aiming to conduct an IEO of its own cryptocurrency "YAY" in order to build an economic sphere that utilizes tokens and NFTs on Yay!.
Expectations are high for the future of Yay!, but how does Takahiro Ishihama, the head of the service, view the current Web 3.0 realm? We also interviewed him about the future of Yay!.
What do you think about the current state of the Web 3.0 field?
Ishihama Takahiro (hereinafter, Ishihama): I believe that use cases that will involve many people will soon emerge. Until now, DeFi, infrastructure, and entertainment have each been in a separate state, and each has been making its own improvements and trial and error. As a result, although progress has been made in each field, new use cases that can be considered as a whole have not yet emerged, and I think that the bull market in the first half was only boosted by the halving and ETFs.
