Pioneers have already incorporated trends into their designs.

Two professionals, NIKO, creator and founder of the popular NFT project “NeoTokyoPunks,” which sold out in 2 minutes at the public sale, and Yuu, producer of the Repezen Foxx memorial NFT, predict the NFT trend.

--Themes that will be needed for NFT this year

NIKO: This year's theme will be how each business and start-up can tie NFT to physicals. Also, with the entry of large companies, it is possible that NFT will reach a wider audience that has not been exposed to NFT before.

Yuu: I agree with you about the fusion of NFT and physical. Considering the situation that can be expected in the future, I think everyone is starting similar efforts.

NIKO: Collaboration with companies will also be a theme. It is difficult for companies to leverage large-scale development on their own, so we can learn a lot by being allowed to use their technology.

Yuu: The project side is also positive about collaboration, and from my experience in NFT projects, I think that companies would like to try NFT, but they don't know what to do.

I think you know this point better than anyone else.

NIKO: As Yuu said, our firsthand experience has shown that we don't know how to tackle NFT-related business, so I think there is a part of them that wants to borrow our knowledge.

Also, there is a difference in perception in terms of the number of users. Large companies work with the advertising budgets of their existing businesses, and the thousands of NFT holders do not necessarily function in the same way as the data on thousands of people possessed by existing companies.

NIKO: Companies want to spend advertising money where the number of users is increasing.

It is said that after the creation of the Internet, followed by newsletters, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, the next step is NFT and the number of people who have wallets will increase. I think the demand for marketing to that will increase.

Yuu: Many projects are facing challenges on how to spread the word about their users.

To begin with, I think it is important to make many people aware of Web 3.0. So I believe that if large companies issue their own brand NFT, it will lead to mass adoption.

NTP (NEO Tokyo Punks) is a successful example of this.

NIKO: One of our recent focus in marketing methods is “DenDen Shinden - DenDekaDen. There are seven characters in the collection, and it is interesting to see how they have created Twitter accounts for each character and have them battle it out based on the number of impressions they receive.

I believe that new types of marketing utilizing SNS will continue to emerge. For example, when a company wants to promote an existing animated cartoon or character, they can issue an NFT. By having that NFT, they can support the character.

Yuu: It's like a Web 3.0 version of AKB48.

NIKO: It is true that there are incentives attached to CDs depending on the number of CDs purchased, and NFTs could be further developed by designing tokens and other incentives, even if they do not require a return.

NEO TOKYO PUNKS” is an NFT collection featuring profile illustrations by Japanese illustrator NIKO24. The collection depicts characters wearing various gadgets in a cyberpunk world. Each character was created using a technique known as “generative art,” in which each part is randomly combined. The collection is expected to be exhibited at events for NFT holders and in 3D on the Metaverse, and is expected to be a source of content from Japan for collectors overseas.

After graduating from Hitotsubashi University, Yuu joined Nomura Securities, where he founded NMarketing in December 2022. He has been working on various NFT projects including the Repezen Foxx Live NFT and “MASKEDGIRLNFT,” marketing and supporting projects using NFT.
