Ethereum founder proposes and attracts attention
Possibility of NFT “SoulBound Token”
SoulBound Token also functions as a digital ID and has the potential to expand its uses due to its ``non-transferable NFT'' characteristics.
Japan is said to be slow in handling new crypto assets compared to other countries, but in recent years the number of windows has been expanding with the simplification of screening procedures and the implementation of IEOs. At the IEO, Palette Token (PLT), the first project in Japan, attracted a lot of attention.
HashPort, which has publisher HashPalette, is a leader in the domestic Web 3.0 field through blockchain games and NFTs. The group is led by Yoshihiro Yoshida, who is well versed in the digital finance field. Mr. Yoshida, who has taken on various challenges, will talk about Web 3.0 in 2023.
Future prospects of SBT
There are many recent examples of its use, such as crowdfunding and new forms of airdrops that have never existed before.
Yoshida: I believe that 2023 will be the year of mass adoption of Web 3.0. There has been a lot of discussion about cashless payments in the past, but to be honest, I think there were many people who didn't really understand. However, once PayPay came out and I tried using it, I immediately understood about cashless payments. In the same way, I believe that in the Web 3.0 area, people will have the opportunity to gain understanding by experiencing it for the first time. In that sense, I think this will be a year in which we focus on the general population. In addition, the environment is now in place for large companies to enter Web 3.0, so in 2023 I think companies with existing networks will enter the crypto industry and work together with startups to make it more exciting. Masu.
The two keys to this year's Web 3.0 are blockchain games and SBT (SoulBound Token).
Our company has already achieved results as success stories, including Elf Masters. From now on, the key point will be how to get general users who have never touched blockchain or NFT to experience it.
Our company has already conducted a demonstration experiment regarding SBT with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. SBT has no price volatility and can share information on multiple platforms to create a solid trust base, so it is clearly convenient for users, and it is an area where major companies are also entering the field. think.
On the other hand, there are currently three issues related to SBT in the NFT and gaming areas.
The first is the onboarding part, which is represented by ``gas fees,'' ``wallet,'' and ``UI/UX.'' The second step was to create a unique IP based on the need to find a format that is optimized for Web 3.0. And the third is token economics.
Last year was a year when Axie Infinity and STEPN games attracted attention. Both have created unique and impactful token economics in a short period of time.
From this example, the key point in the future is to aim for "Play to Fun with Token" rather than "Play to Earn". The emphasis is on enjoying the game and earning tokens, rather than playing the game to earn tokens.
I like ``Attack on Titan,'' and I think the industry called Web 3.0 will become like the Survey Corps going outside the walls. There are many strong giants in the industries of the future. How can we overcome this as a team on the Web 3.0 side? I would like to firmly find a way to do that.
As a pioneer, we have made various announcements, but we believe that the time has finally come for mass adoption, and we will continue to move forward with Web 3.0 in Japan.
