Cocone, the creator of "Pokecolo" etc., creates new experiences with "Web 3.0 x Avatar"
With the rise of social media, avatar culture has been established as a way to express "another self" that is different from the real world.
Many businesses are working on avatars, but in Japan, games like "Pokecolo" and "Livly Island" are particularly popular.
Cocone Inc., which handles such hit content, has finally entered the Web 3.0 field through its group companies. Led by Yosuke Tomita, who has previously served as president of the Cocone Group, the company will begin to fully develop Web 3.0 services.
Tomita: The crypto industry is currently in a period of decline. However, the entertainment-like services we provide are not only less susceptible to this impact, but we believe that they should be able to demonstrate their strengths in times like these.
Cocone is not working on the Web 3.0 business just because it is trendy. We see it as a fundamental technology that makes the digital world, also known as the metaverse, more attractive, as we have been working on it for over 10 years.
Even if the way the world deals with COVID-19 changes and there is a stronger return to offline, the trend of increasing importance of the digital world will not stop.
Avatars will allow people to live with values different from their current selves and "feel free," people who "spend a lot of time" in comfortable digital spaces, and Web 3.0 will create an economy in the digital world, and more people will be "happy" as they are financially rewarded.
If people essentially want it, it will lead to a great future regardless of short-term trends.
In 2022, Cocone, centered around our group company POST VOYAGER, launched its own blockchain "MOOI Network" and released an ecosystem of NFT marketplaces, DEX, Bridge, two types of wallets, and four Web 3.0 global services "Meta Livly", "PKCL Twins", "JANKEN", and "ClawKiss".
Having taken on the challenge at the forefront, we are confident of the flow of the times. Although it is a small flow now, we are seeing a flow that will lead to a great river. However, people and the world cannot change in one step. We will not wait for the arrival of that era, but will push forward ourselves.
And we will not only face those who are already in touch with Web 3.0, but also our biggest supporters and most important customers.
We will carefully take the hand of those who are familiar with Web 2.0 and take on the challenge of experiencing the new world of Web 3.0.
It may be a small step that should actually be called Web 2.1. However, we would like to move forward calmly, without rushing or hasty, with our feet on the ground and with an eye on the coming era.
