Are blockchain games becoming a red ocean?

There are no statistical data on the number of blockchain games produced, but compared to 2022 and 2023, when new titles were announced almost every month and made social media buzz, it seems that there has been a lack of excitement in recent years. Since 2024, many of the new titles that have attracted attention have already raised funds in the billions of yen, and the majority have had development periods of more than three years.

It has become an industry where it is difficult to attract players' attention unless the title is of that scale. A few years ago, there were many titles that seemed to have been made with a low budget and in a short period of time, but in recent years, the reality is that such new titles are hardly talked about. Like the smartphone game market, the blockchain game market may already be a red ocean.
