Regional Revitalization Projects Expanding from 'Passion'
Summary
1. A New Regional Revitalization Model Connecting Regional Industries and Fans through Migrants and DAO
In Yamanakako Village, initiatives are being promoted to connect people inside and outside the region using DAOs and social media, centered around the flower industry. A new form of creating 'related populations' by integrating tourism, industry, and community is being explored.
2. Adding Stories to Non-standard Dahlias to Achieve Value Transformation
New value is being created for flowers that cannot be sold on the market through social media promotion and direct sales. By conveying the producers' thoughts and the regional background, empathy is generated, transforming 'unsellable resources' into content that attracts fans.
3. Building Real Experiences and Continuous Relationships Starting from the DAO Community
A design is being constructed that leads from online communities to local experiences and event participation. In the future, the aim is to build relationships that accumulate visits, participation, and involvement, utilizing NFTs and other tools.
── Could you tell us about the background of undertaking the 'Regional Revitalization Cooperation Team DAO' in Yamanakako Village?
Saki Kawamura (hereafter, Kawamura): Before the start of this project, in January 2024, Yamanashi Prefecture entered into a partnership agreement with 'Ota Floriculture,' which handles flower wholesale at the Ota Market in Tokyo.
Amid efforts to invigorate the entire prefecture centered around flowers, the project 'Regional Revitalization Cooperation Team DAO' began in collaboration with Aruyoumu Co., Ltd., which is engaged in regional revitalization using DAOs and NFTs. The village already has a tourist spot called 'Flower Capital Park,' where flower fields spread out against the backdrop of Mt. Fuji, offering a unique and beautiful landscape.
It is said that Yamanakako Village volunteered for this project based on the judgment that it is a 'region with high affinity for flowers.' As a tourist destination, we want to enhance tourism demand by allowing people to enjoy activities such as flower picking experiences. In the future, we hope to increase producers and stakeholders, and develop it as an industry.
At the foot of Mt. Fuji, about 4,000 tsubo of fields are cultivated with 56 varieties of flowers, including dahlias.
