The new world created by AI: the current state of the increasingly heated AI field

Competition is intensifying with the broad strengthening of AI-related services announced at Google I/O 2024.

GAFA, the name for American big tech, which began to spread gradually from the late 2000s, has changed to GAFAM, FANG, and MATANA, and in 2024, due to Meta's V-shaped recovery, the new name "M7 (Magnificent Seven)" was created.

The S&P500 (Standard & Poor's 500 Stock Index), which is calculated based on the stock prices of 500 US companies, has a total market capitalization of companies that are sometimes called big tech, which accounts for about 30% of the total market capitalization of the S&P500, and if M7 and the rest are used as an index, there seems to be a difference of about 5 times.

Among them, Tesla and "NVIDIA" have newly come to be called M7. Tesla has established its EV brand as the electric vehicle (EV) market steadily progressed, and has been steadily increasing its sales.

NVIDIA's GPUs were originally processors designed to accelerate calculations for image and video processing, but in recent years they have also played a central role in AI fields such as machine and deep learning. These calculations require the ability to process large amounts of data at high speed, and the parallel processing capabilities of the GPU are said to be extremely effective.
