[NEWS] Sota Watanabe and others to create Web 3.0 idol project; Yasushi Akimoto appointed as general producer

Startale Labs, which develops the Japanese public blockchain Astar Network, announced on the 7th that it has established a joint venture company, YOAKE entertainment Co., Ltd., with Asobisystem, Twin Planet, W TOKYO, and Y&N Brothers.

YOAKE entertainment will launch an idol project using tokens. Startale Labs has signed a strategic partnership agreement with YOAKE entertainment to establish an idol economic sphere and globalize it.

In addition, Sota Watanabe, founder of Astar Network, has been appointed as a director of YOAKE entertainment. Ethereum Layer 2 "Astar zkEVM" has been adopted as the foundation of the project. In the future, token issuance will also be carried out using Astar zkEVM.

Yasushi Akimoto, who has worked with AKB48 and Nogizaka46, has been appointed as the general producer of the project. Under Yasushi Akimoto's production, the project aims to create and nurture a male idol group.

According to the announcement, this project will utilize blockchain to provide an innovative method to fundamentally change the relationship between fans and idols, enabling fans around the world to support idol groups beyond regional and language barriers.

Activities to support and support idol groups include purchasing CDs and merchandise and participating in events and campaigns, and the aim is to establish an ecosystem in which these activities directly lead to token acquisition. In the future, the company will also aim to introduce ecosystems to existing idol groups and expand the global entertainment economic sphere using tokens.

Watanabe, who has been appointed as a director of YOAKE entertainment, commented, "We are looking forward to distributing the content created by Akimoto, who has always been at the forefront of Japanese entertainment while facing various social changes, on our Web3 platform." He then said, "We will expand the possibilities of entertainment content and compete globally."

Akimoto was also appointed as the general producer of the new idol creation project "IDOL3.0 PROJECT" last year.

In December of last year, the 11-member female idol group "WHITE SCORPION" made its debut through the project.

IDOL3.0 PROJECT conducted an IEO using its own token, NIDT, on domestic cryptocurrency exchanges DMM Bitcoin and Coinbook, raising over 1 billion yen.
