Calbee announced on the 12th that it will launch the "NFT Chips Campaign" as a new experience program for its smartphone app "Calbee Ruby Program" on the same day.
This campaign was jointly developed with Hakuhodo, CryptoGames, DataGateway Pte. Ltd, and others, and features NFTs that can be enjoyed as they grow gradually in tandem with the number of purchases.
According to Calbee and others, this will be the first attempt in Japan at a gift campaign for purchase-growth type NFTs that grow in tandem with actual purchases.
The campaign will run from 10:00 on Wednesday, April 12th to 23:59 on Wednesday, May 31st. Those who meet all the participation conditions will be able to receive "Potato NFTs." The participation conditions are as follows:
- Download the Ruby Program app
- Register a folded package of one of the eligible products, Potato Chips Light Salt/Consommé Punch/Nori Salt
- Register an account for the NFT management service wappa through the Ruby Program
Folded packages refer to an initiative to reduce the amount of garbage bags used by folding empty packages into small pieces and throwing them away.
Each time you scan an empty package of an eligible product with the Ruby Program, the Potato NFT grows, and by scanning it five times, you can harvest a character from the fictional world of Jagaverse.
In addition, users who harvest a "gold character" that appears randomly when acquiring a character will receive a limited distribution of "CHIPS NEXT Yokunetaimo Kitaakari" (6 bags) within Japan, limited to 100 people.
In addition, Calbee explains that they will provide new digital experiences to Potato NFT holders in the future.
Calbee's Ruby Program will be released in 2020. In July of last year, the company, together with Hakuhodo and CryptoGames, began distributing NFTs on the farming experience game "Astar Farm."
